The Breakfast Club - Athlete Edition
The Breakfast Club is an 80s classic, and, despite being released the year I was born, one of my favorite adolescent movies. I identified with all the characters, likely because, well, the audience is supposed to. I thought delving into a new theme was in order. Behold, the five part series of The Breakfast Club: brain, athlete, basket case, princess, and criminal.
I’m writing this entry from my chaise lounge wearing yoga leggings and trainers. Other than a regular exercise routine, that’s pretty much as close to an athlete as I get these days, but growing up, I dabbled in all sorts of jockery, from gymnastics to tennis. Those are admittedly culturally feminine sports, but I’m okay with not having any concussions in my medical history.
Last year, I started boxing, and I loved it. Sadly, I made an amateurish move of taking on more than I was ready and injured myself, but I recently signed up at a nearby boxing gym, and am looking forward to getting back to hitting the bag.
I would also like to submit that my napping skills are to be contended with at an Olympian level, but this often results in patronizing head pets (and, hey, I like being petted, so I’ll take it!).
Workout and writing attire are suspiciously similar.
